Once, while walking the streets of Bratislava...

The ends of my hair froze into perfect little icicles. I had no idea hair could freeze. But if you get yourself all the way to Bratislava Castle, amidst wintry winds and falling snow (only to be told the castle is closed because important peoples are visiting) and walk back to old town (slowly because these streets have patches of ice and good god you are not wearing the proper shoes) and find yourself going in and out of shops looking for warmth (thawing and freezing and thawing again), it is then that whatever hair escapes your warm knitted cap (which is quite a bit because you haven't had a haircut in months) will indeed freeze.
Barred castles, freezing winds and important peoples notwithstanding, curls encased in ice make quite a sight. And worth the whole ordeal.

(it is a miracle I not once got sick during that particular winter)
